O’s Notes: The Honeycomb is alto saxophonist John O’Gallagher latest endeavor, a followup to The Anton Webern Project. The band is now a trio with bassist Johannes Weidenmueller and drummer Mark Ferber. The stage is open and interplay is respectful. The groove is free fusion but with enough structure for listeners to follow along. There are eight original pieces that display yet another dimension of O’Gallagher’s talent.
