O’s Notes: Pianist Gerald Clayton leads a trio with Joe Sanders on bass and Justin Brown playing drums. This unit is at harmony itself and their Bond is amiable and strong. Gerald produced the session and wrote nine of the sixteen tunes. The pace varies but the vibe is a peaceful groove, modern jazz centered on the keys. There are many rich selections among the fifteen tracks, notably “Major Hope”, “3D”, “There Is Nothing There” and “Nobody Else But Me” a fitting solo by Clayton. This Paris Sessions have a fit in many places.
