O’s Notes: Daggerboard is a contemporary, jazz ensemble led by composers Erik Jekabson (t), Ross Howe (g) and Gregory Howe (perc). Their latest release Daggerboard & The Skipper, includes songwriter, bassist Henry Franklin (The Skipper) as well as Roger Glenn (vibes), Mike Hughes (d), and a 4-piece string section. The sound is symphonic, jazz-fusion with a retro twist. “The Dream Within A Dream”, “Skipper’s Garden” and “Video Culture” are among the best.
