O’s Notes: She plays alto saxophone, composed and co-produced all of the music on her latest release. We are speaking about Allison Au. There is a calming effect in her music and as the title suggests a darker mood, we found it more refreshing. The solos are rounded and embraceable. We especially enjoyed the urban feel of the title track accentuated by a pumping bass line, B3 and excerpts form John Cage and Morton Feldman in Conversation on WBAI July 9, 1966.
