O’s Notes: Joe’s voice is inviting which makes for a smooth delivery of these fourteen standards. The band is a solid rhythm section consisting of Tony Genge (p), Ken Lister (b) and Buff Allen (d) with accents from Pat Cloeman (g), Bill Runge (sax, fl) and Mike Herriott (t). The program has lots depth ranging from “Amour Et Moi” to reflections of the times with “It’s A Jungle Out There” to swingers like “Teach Me Tonight”. Our favorites were “Paraphrase” and “Sweet Little Angel” that includes one of Herriott’s sweet solos on flugel horn.
