O’s Notes: There are a variety of different modes on Third Moon of Jupiter that provides music for different palates. It’s the third recording from saxophonist Gorka Garay, and he continues to explore unique instrumental arrangements and sounds. This is an intriguing effort that caught our attention. “Beneath the Crimson Night” is an eerie tune with deep, raspy vocals. Garay’s strong sax tones reign on “Traveling To The Unknown” and throughout the session. We liked “Imaginary Enemies”, the warm, soothing “Aehaa Aehoo”, the pleasant “Happiness Flows Through Ears”, and the adventurous “If I Were A Bird”.
