O’s Notes: This is a seductive set featuring Yanna’s passionate vocals. She sings mostly in French with some English for effect. The Latin vibe of “Sway” adds to the sensuality, as does Harry Allen’s warm tenor sax on “Est-Ce Ma Faute A Moi”. Avis selects a fine group of musicians for support including Ken Peplowski (cl), David Finck (b), Ted Firth (p) and Warren Vache (t). Among the best songs are “Shiny Stockings”, “Love For Sale” and “The Shadow Of your Smile”. She teams up with Effie Gans for “Mi Rival” and Phillip Hernandez on “Speak Low” that also features Lou Marini with a flute solo. Yanna speaks enough love for an entire evening.
