O’s Notes: Pianist Michael Pagán has recorded as a soloist and with other musicians including very large ensembles. As the title suggests, this is a trio outing with Ray DeMarchi (d) and Bob Bowman (b) supporting Pagán for a spirited performance. These are all very talented musicians as we discover quickly on their cover of “You Don’t Know What Love Is” including an excellent solo by Bowman. You know these tunes and will enjoy the arrangements infused with heartfelt improvisations. This is a case where three musicians provide a large and enjoyable experience.
