O’s Notes: Throttle Elevator Music is the brainchild of producer Gregory Howe and Mike Montgomery (b, p). Their mission was to create a punk-jazz hybrid album. They added drummer/guitarist Lumpy and Kamasi Washington on sax to fill out the band. They come together to accomplish the mission creating a few gems in the process. Among the best are “Bass In the Sublime”, Throttle Rocket” and “Dancing Dust Moat”.
