O’s Notes: Jamie Reynolds (p), Gary Wang (b) and Eric Doob (d) form a trio that plays a dozen original songs. Reynolds wrote all of the music during 2006-2011, a period during which he experienced a lot of change. The music reflects his growth during that time. It is mostly reflective ballads that seem to be inspired by nature. “Cold Spring” is one of the more upbeat tunes that stood out. We also enjoyed “Singing School” and found the set suitable as relaxing background music.
