O’s Notes: Josh Nelson (p) and Bob Bowman (b) met many years ago with the promise of making a duo recording. When the opportunity finally surfaces, they found themselves in the presence of many cherished musicians, hence the Collective. We enjoyed “Yea San”, “Blue In Green”, the combined sax, guitar melodies on “Your Night Your Music”, and the gentle swaying piano melody on “Sometime Ago” including a fine bass solo. Bob Sheppard (sax), Larry Koonse (g) and Clay Jenkins (t) step into the spotlight on “Blues For Albert E”. These are just a few of many fine tunes on Tomorrow Is Not Promised, an album to cherish!
