O’s Notes: Saxophonist Christine Jensen conducts an 18-piece jazz orchestra in homage to nature. This is a departure from her past recordings with small ensembles. She is accompanied by a fine group of Canadian musicians including her sister, trumpeter Ingrid Jensen. We enjoyed the peaceful landscape of “Western Yew”. Treelines employs the power of a large ensemble with the intimacy of a quintet. Christine wrote all of the music except the bubbly “Dropoff” by Joel Miller. “Dark And Srormy Blues” is another highlight in this set of eight well-developed compositions.
