O’s Notes: Tribal Dance is a rocking, jazz-fusion session featuring guitarist, composer and producer Tohpati. Jimmy Haslip (b) and Chad Wackerman (d) join him on the live studio recording for and electrifying set! “Spirit Of Java” cast a dark mood before they open things up on the title track with Haslip sharing the spotlight with Tohpati. We also enjoyed “Red Mask”, “Run” and “Supernatural” making this a strong outing.
