O’s Notes: Bassist, bandleader and executive producer Henry Franklin has been doing his thing for many years and is very good at it. The groupings for this project feature two pianists, Cecilia Coleman and Kirk Lightest. Cecilia plays three songs in a trio with Franklin and Benn Clatworthy on tenor sax. Benn also plays with Lightsey in several different configurations for the other six selections. Guitarist Calvin Keys and percussionist Lee Jimenez also appears on two selections each. The varied groupings and good song selection including a couple of Clatworthy originals keeps the listener engaged throughout Two Views, another good outing for Franklin.
