O’s Notes: The band is Eyal Maoz (g), Sam Trapchak (b), Nick Anderson (d) and leader composer Tal Gur (sax). It gets a little grungy on “Missles Up Missles Down” before the mellow yet eclectic “Time Tuning Afternoon #5”. Most of the set leans towards the latter, extending into free jazz keeping listeners alert and evoking their creative side. Tal presents an introspective program that requires imagination to extract the most enjoyment.
