O’s Notes: Ensemble Denada is a band under the direction of Norwegian trombonist and composer Helge Sunde. His music is a blend of Nordic, European and American jazz with a decided contemporary bent. It is based on the poetry of Olav H. Huage, a Norwegian farmer who discovered the art of writing after receiving a book: “Hints On Writing Poetry”. Sunde shares the artistic Windfall that blessed Huage over seven compositions. Of note are “Mosaic”, “The Speedcouch” and “Seven Winds”.
