O’s Notes: Canadian pianist Chantale Gagne studied under Kenny Barron before beginning her solo career. Her style marries ragtime, folk, bebop and popular music in a palpable presentation. She invites first call musicians Joe Locke (vibes, Peter Washington (b) and Lewis Nash (d) to join her on Wisdom Of The Water a self produced effort featuring many of her original composition. Gagne is successful with this fresh peaceful set, a joy to listen to.
