O’s Notes: Kevin makes his Mack Avenue debut with a solid jazz-fusion effort. This is his first release since leaving the tonight show and we’re pleased to say he is on top of his game. He mixes straight ahead jazz with fusion and some soft ballads like “Adoration”. There is a fierce exchange between Kevin and drummer Marvin ‘Smitty’ Smith on “Das It”. We liked the funky beats of “Spider Monkey Café”, the cool fusion on “Los Angeles”, “The Dirty Monk” and “6/8” with Bill Pierce on sax. No doubt Eubanks is on of the premier guitarists on today’s jazz scene and we look for a lot more from him!
