O’s Notes: Drummer “Killer” Ray Appleton is the catalyst for any band he plays in! He has created the pulse for Dizzy, Trane, Wes Montgomery, Milt Jackson, Hancock and too many others to mention. As a leader his energy is contagious. Bryan Lynch (t), Peter Bernstein (g) and Rick Germanson (p) are a part of his band and they don’t miss a beat. The sextet sounds like an orchestra with rich warm clear sound. They play a bit of Latin, some bop, ballads and blues to keep you patting your feet. Naptown Legacy is a winner!
