O’s Notes: Puerto Rican percussionist and composer Frank Colón steps out of the shadows as sideman and leads the charge on Latin Lounge. The album was recorded in Brazil and Colón utilized the wealth of local talent including Carlos Malta (fl), José Staneck (harmonica), José Arimateia (t), Estevão Lima (b) and many others. The ten originals are peaceful and fresh, including some programming. Highlights are the energizing “Emerald Coast” and “Wishful Thinking”.
