O’s Notes: Latin Dreams has a cool Caribbean flow accentuated by the funky juices coming out of Rhyme’s Hammond B3. Milton Cardona fills in on congas and Ilya Lushtak plays guitar. Killer Ray is the anchor on the skins. “Night Vigil” is the opener. It typifies intensity of the set. Cardona shines on the intro of “Cariba” followed by Lushtak’s melody. They take time to sooth us with “The Very Thought of You” but most of the nine tracks are upbeat. Other highlights are “Tequila” and “Blue ‘n’ Boogie” which round out a very good session of classic Latin tunes.
