O’s Notes: Pianist Antonio Adolfo assembles a fine band of Brazilian musicians to celebrate the music of singer/songwriter Milton Nascimento. Milton’s music has been recorded by many great jazz and popular musicians. The music reflects upon the natural disasters in 2015 and 2019 that struck Minas Gerais killing hundreds and contaminating water sources for years to come. The music captures the emotions from sorrow to retreat and then hope and resilience. The music is beautiful and reflects the spirit of the people. Our favorites are “Cais”, “Outubro” and “Caxanga”.
