O’s Notes: Clarice is among the latest surge of Brazilian musical wonders. She sings and plays the piano. Her voice is an instrument that marries tones and emotion with her band as she scats and improvises freely through the changes. Clarice has a unique voice with an abundance of energy and creativity. She explodes on “Ad Lib”, one of three originals in the set. The other songs are arrangements of Brazilian standards with her indelible stamp. Assad has rich vocal skills that we hope to here again.
