O’s Notes: Percussionist and conguero, Little Johnny Rivera assembles a Latin band featuring trumpeter Brian Lynch, Louis Fouche (a-sax), Zaccai Curtis (p), Ludwig Alfonso (d) and Luques Curtis (b). They are joined by many special guests on Music In Me. The overarching theme is merengue with a wealth of percussion. Among the best are “Let’s Do It Again”, “Palmieri, Much Respect”, “Alambique”, “Mr. LP”, “Africa My Land” and the funky “Afro-Rykan Thoughts”.
