O’s Notes: These are fourteen accomplished Brazilian musicians. They play contemporary Brazilian music (known as MPB). It is all new music and arrangements that are fresh and moving. Instrumentation includes strings, reeds, piano, bandolin, accordion and warm vocals. “Parafuso” is an excellent example with scatting and layered percussion building in phases. We also liked “Gacho – Corta Jaca” which has a Spanish flavor. This is their first album and it offers a lot of promise.
