O’s Notes: Corina is from Peru but now lives in New York. She retains her musical heritage on this collection of nine originals and standards. Most of the lyrics are in Spanish supported with Latin beats that need no translation. The percussion, drums and bass create the Afro-Peruvian groove that gives this music its character. It comes out best on “Bailan Todas Las Razas” and “Osiris” featuring Peter Brainin on sax.
