O’s Notes: Guitarist Thomas Lorenzo plays both electric and acoustic guitars. His style varies accordingly as he opens on electric with the funky “You’re Cute” then fusion on “Giggles and Whispers”. He switches to a racy blues on “1-2-3, Let’s Go”. The pace slows on “Blue Secrets” bridging the switch to acoustic for the second half of the CD. Lorenzo is equally adept playing Spanish ballads with a level of warmth that preclude romance. We were enticed by “Contigo Aprendi”, “Bailas?” and “Georgia”. Thomas picked up the pace again on “Mi Aima” but with a flamenco twist. Bassist Alphonso Johnson, Walfredo Reyes, Jr. (d) and pianist Dave Garfield flow with Lorenzo never missing a beat. They keep the temperature and moods appropriately matched. Lorenzo performs well on all accounts.
