O’s Notes: This is a different kind of samba than the traditional bossa nova beats we’ve come to expect out of Brazil. These are the best selections form a 2004 project that included over 250 musicians playing wind instruments in Brazil. The results are excellent with a wide variety of soothing sounds that connect us with nature and free spirits. Among the best are “The March of the Sounds” by Mané Silviera (sax) and Vittor Santos’ (tb) “Morning of Carnival”.
