O’s Notes: This is another world-class effort from conductor Brent Wallarab (tb) and partner Mark Buselli (t) leading a strong large ensemble. The program of nine songs is broken into four sections. The first is Suite Storytelling with four dynamic originals by Wallarab. Next is “Goodbye Little Dream, Goodbye”, a Cole Porter tine followed by Suite influence, a trio of standards highlighted by “Stompin’ At the Savoy”. They conclude the session with a passionate cover of Freddie Hubbard’s “Little Sunflower”. Nice! Again, the pair drives a great listening experience.
