O’s Notes: The Marc Rossi Group is a contemporary jazz band with a mellow pop/fusion sound that is contagious. It is a combination of Indian and American jazz forms composed by Rossi. Bruce Arnold (g), Lance Van Lenten (sax) and Bill Urmson (b) form the core with Rossi on piano. There is a lot to like here including “Voice of 1000 Colors” with a exceptional drum solo by Mauricio Zottarelli; the cool & funky “Feast or Famine”; and “New Beginnings”. Goethe Ramanathan Bennett provides vocalizations on two selections and Prasanna plays guitar & scats on “Jazz Impressions of A Kriti” to round out an exciting set.
