O’s Notes: Guitarist and composer Gene Ess leads a band with pianist David Berkman, Thomas Kneeland on bass and drummer Gene Jackson. The music swings with Thana Alexa adding scatting and vocalese that blends into the band seamlessly. The addition of voice takes Fractal Attraction from a solid fusion recording to a very good session. This is Gene’s second recording with vocals and hopefully not his last!
