O’s Notes: Kevin Harris is a keyboardist, composer and bandleader with music that is worth listening to repeatedly. He incorporates the Rhodes for a retro, yet fresh sound on several tracks. The program is a great mix of five originals with three fresh covers. Harris adds vocals on “Redemption Song”, a powerful rendition of Marley’s classic. Bassist Kendall Eddy makes his presence known throughout the set and opens “You Are My Sunshine” with a fine solo. Jason Palmer (t) and Rick DiMuzio (sax) add melodies with Steve Lagone and Richie Barshay splitting drumming duty.
