O’s Notes: The Wrong Object is a sextet with Michel Delville (g), Antoine Guenet (keyboards, vocals) Marti Melia (sax, cl), Franois Lourtie (sax, voice), Pierre Mottet (b) and Laurent Delchambre (d, perc, samples). It has been five years since their last recording but worth the wait. Delville and Guenet wrote most of the music for this eclectic set. They stretch the limits on fusion early in the set before setting into a cool pop tune “Glass Cubes” featuring singer Susan Clynes. We enjoyed the structure especially on “Wrong But Not False”. Fans of this genre will enjoy “Detox Gruel”, “Spanish Fly” and the bulk of the racy rocking tunes.
