O’s Notes: Hoaxer is a quartet featuring Charlie Lincoln on bass, pianist Will Kjeer, Peter Goggin on sax and drummer Edmund Catlin. They’ve been performing since 2015 and this is their debut recording. There are a range of moods on“Crash Test“from the tranquil “San Juan Island Country Fair” to the free flowing “Octagon” and the adventurous “It Is”. We enjoyed their “Fake News” best in the set of original music. This young band has a lot of potential and could explode at any minute.
