O’s Notes: Baritone saxophonist and bass clarinetist Josh Sinton’s trio includes guitarist Todd Neufeld and bassist Giacomo Merega. They have a rather unusual name, What Happens In A Year. They made their debut Cérémonie/Musique, a spontaneous improvisational session, back in 2018 and just released it in 2020. The original tunes are open, imaginative and introspective. We liked “Change of Scene”, “Untethered” and the soothing “Music From A Locked Room” best. This set has an acquired taste that is hit or miss, perhaps delightful for the selected few!
