O’s Notes: Rahsaan Barber is an explosive saxophonist with gutsy tone. Mosaic is a 2-disc set that is a work of art. Special guests Nathan Warner (t) and Roland Barber (tb) Rahsaan’s twin brother, stand out on “Catch as Ketch Can” and “Down In My Soul” respectively. Barber wails on “Mountains and Clouds” with pacifying support from pianist Matt Endahl, bassist Jack Aylor and drummer Derrek Phillips. Highlights are plentiful: “Swang That Thang”, “Panic Point” and “Newdayrocks”. They also shine on the remorseful tribute to “Breonna Taylor (How Many More?)”
