O’s Notes: Bassist and composer Greg Loughman leads multiple band configurations on Re: Connection with a core rhythm section including Anastassiya Petrova (p), Tyson Jackson (d) and Max O’Rourke (g). There’s a dark, eerie feel to the music with a really intriguing groove that makes Re: Connection a reasonable proposal. We liked the lazy vibe of “Isolation”. Nathan Kay (t) plays a bit of cat and mouse with Dan Elbert (a-sax) and Anton Derevyenko (t-sax) as they approach the melodies “From All Sides”.
