O’s Notes: This is a slow, simmering set of warm ballads featuring saxophonist Randal Despommier and guitarist Ben Monder. They perform the music of the late Swedish saxophonist Lars Gullin (1928-1976). The duo sounds a lot larger, owed in part to the program material that is a full bodied and rich. Highlights are “Danny’s Dream”, “BBC Blues” and “Mazurka”.
