O’s Notes: These are the bluesy romantic tunes that used to dominate radio airwaves back in the 1970s and 1980s. We thought they were provocative then, but not even close to some of songs that permeate the airwaves today. It gives us a sense of what good love, songs and blues are all about. You’ll hear Carla Thomas, The Staple Singers, Homer Banks, Eddie Floyd, and many more. Some of these artists were famous, and some of them faded into obscurity, but all of them had a common thread for good music, great messages, and a lot of fun.
