O’s Notes: Formed 4 years ago inspired by the music of Art Blakey’s Jazz Messengers, Ugetsu is now flourishing mainly with their own compositions. The band is truly international with members from Germany, Russia, Australia and the US. The brassy (sax, trombone and trumpet) front line adds depth and rich tone to the melodies. When they cook, they burn as on the opener, “Forged Visa”.
