O’s Notes: Frank (p) was born in Algeria and has lived over twenty years each in Europe and in the US. But his love for jazz is universal. He has teamed up with Joe Chambers on drums and German bassist Johannes Weidenmuller. Both musicians perform flawlessly. The music is tight and really swings, whether it’s one of Frank’s originals or a rearranged standard. Rather than trying to fit a cliché, they focus on making the music sound good. They are successful without an abundance of notes or showmanship. It sounds just right!
