O’s Notes: Bon Chic features Valerie Ahneman singing thirteen classic jazz ballads. The lyrics are song in French and in English. The program includes both jazz and pop classics. “Fly Me To The Moon”, “Your Love Is King”, “Les Champs Elysées” and “What- Love Got To Do With It?” are examples. The band is rock solid led by guitarist Laurent Medelgi. The feeling is desperate at times, as Ahneman seems almost out of breath. She puts every ounce into her performance.
