O’s Notes: This was trumpeter Little’s last recording (1961). He died from uremia only weeks after the session was complete at the age of 23. You hear hints of greatness in his hard bop style. This sextet also included Julian Priester (trombone), Pete LaRoca (d) and Reggie Workman (b).
