O’s Notes: This is a swinging large ensemble led by Adam Unsworth (French horn) with a core band that includes John Vanore (t, flugelhorn) and Bill Mays (p). Byron Olson is the arranger and conductor of string orchestras for both Philadelphia and New York Sessions. The music is alive and energizing at times then soft and peaceful. Balance spans a variety of styles reflecting the experiences and styles of the principals. The results are a fine performance!
