O’s Notes: Omar’s music is typically dynamic and spirited, sometimes even explosive. For this compilation, he has selected the more peaceful and passionate works from four albums recorded between 1997 and 2000: Prietos, Free Roots, Bembon and Spirit Of The Roots. The ten original compositions are performed in different groupings but all come together on Ballads to make a new, very integrated set of peaceful and passionate music. Very nicely done!
