O’s Notes: Bathtub Gin is a ticket to re-enter 1920-30s jazz space with songstress Roberta Donnay as your tour guide. She places her seductive nasal tone on top of a solid platform provided by her Prohibition Mob Band. They swing through fifteen vintage tunes including four originals by Donnay notably the danceable “Throw Your Heart”. The mood is lite and the lyrics are enjoyable stories making this a fine introduction to jump-swing jazz.
