O’s Notes: Mark Kibble, Claude Villani, David Thomas, Kristian Dently, Alvin Chea and Joel Kibble may not ring a bell individually but collectively they are Take 6, a legendary acapella vocal band. Their latest release Believe is a collection of fourteen songs, each with a positive message underscored with popping rhythms, vocalized instrumentation matched with harmonized lyrics. They sing up-tempo, slow ballads and even some rap to deliver a scintillating performance. We’re still fascinated by their talents and appreciate the groove combined with wholesome lyrics. We got a different take each time we listened! “Reset”, “You Know You’re In Love” with Stevie Wonder, “You Make Me Happy” are highlghts. Several others incorporate instrumentation adding further depth to a winning set.
