O’s Notes: This is the jazz-fusion side of bassist Robert Hurst displayed with many insightful original tunes and worldly rhythms. The opener is a fierce bass solo appropriately titled “Obama Victory Dance”. “Optimism” has a friendly South African fusion groove while “Comes You Comes Love” again features Hurst against Afro/Cuban percussion and vocals courtesy of Daryl “Munyungo” Jackson and Sy Smith respectively. “Alice And John” is a tribute to the Coltrane’s featuring Marcus Belgrave (t) and Karriem Riggins (d). “Unintellectual Property” includes sample speeches from Presidents Obama and Bush contrasting viewpoints. It underscores the theme of the album, Bob Ya Head!
