O’s Notes: Marbin is saxophonist Danny Markovitch and guitarist Dani Rabin. For their sophomore release they expanded the band to a quartet with Paul Wert co (d, perc) and Steve Robby (b). They open with the intense driving groove of “Loopy” before settling into the more settled pace of “A Serious Man”. “Bar Stomp” is a blues tune followed by the western pop tone of “Outdoor Revolution”. These are all original tunes composed and produced by Dani and Danny. It is a fresh and varied take on rock-based jazz-fusion that warrants strong consideration, especially from the progressive rock crowd.
