O’s Notes: Pianist and composer Andrew Durkin leads a fusion quartet for his““solo debut“Breath of Fire. He released 5 prior albums with the Los Angeles based Industrial Jazz Group. He is joined by Tim Wilcox (ts), David Valdez (as), Ryan Meagher (g), Andrew Jones (b) and Todd Bishop (d). The music sounds like accomaniment from a Sims cartoon, a happy-go-lucky theme. Durkin is also an author with a PhD in English!
